Derrel has joined the LionHeart Team of Security Professionals after retiring from the FBI as a Supervisory Tactical Instructor and Active Shooter Training Coordinator.  In his new role, Derrel will lead LionHeart’s Active Shooter training program and coordinate our use of the MILO Range interactive training system. During his 21 years with the FBI, he served as an FBI Academy Instructor, SWAT Team member, and Criminal Case Agent.  In 2009, he was embedded with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan as a Counterterrorism Agent.  In 2013, he was honored as a Duke University National Security Research Fellow.  Prior to the FBI, Derrel served as a Metro Nashville Police Officer and U.S. Army Engineer Officer.
